1024×768 Aspect Ratio: 4:3 Calculator
Find the 1024×768 aspect ratio (4:3), see the reduction steps, and calculate resized dimensions without stretching.
1024 × 768 simplifies to 4:3. It is a landscape frame with 786,432 pixels. Its width is approximately 1.3333 times its height.

Exact height: 768 px
How the ratio is calculated
1024 ÷ 256 = 4; 768 ÷ 256 = 3. Dividing both sides by the same value preserves the proportions and gives 4:3. 256 is the greatest common divisor of these dimensions.
Height = width × 3 ÷ 4. Width = height × 4 ÷ 3. These formulas change size without changing shape. They do not crop or pad the source.
4:3 display: scaling and framing
At 768 pixels wide, proportional resizing gives 576 pixels high. To fit a 16:9 canvas without cropping, expand the original canvas to approximately 1365.33 × 768 before whole-pixel rounding. Cropping instead keeps 1024 × 576 and removes 96 pixels from the top and bottom.
Ratio, resolution and units
A ratio compares width with height; it does not describe file size, compression or image quality. Enter both sides in pixels, inches or another matching unit. This calculator assumes square pixels for digital images. Video with a non-square pixel aspect ratio needs its display aspect ratio checked separately.
4:3 resizing examples
| Width | Exact height | Rounded height |
|---|---|---|
| 320 px | 240 px | 240 px |
| 640 px | 480 px | 480 px |
| 1080 px | 810 px | 810 px |
| 1920 px | 1440 px | 1440 px |
Decimal heights are displayed to four decimal places. Rounding can change the final ratio slightly. For an exact integer result, use dimensions that are whole-number multiples of 4:3.
