Aspect ratios
4:5 Aspect Ratio Calculator & 1080×1350 Sizes
Calculate 4:5 portrait sizes, verify 1080×1350, and compare a taller source with a 4:5 crop or padded canvas.
4:5 is a portrait frame that is four units wide for every five units tall. A 1080 × 1350 image is an exact example: dividing both values by 270 gives 4:5.

Change either side. The other updates proportionally. Results show whole pixels and the exact value before rounding.

4:5 dimensions in pixels
There is no single pixel size for a 4:5 frame. These width × height pairs all simplify exactly to 4:5. Choose a size to open it in the full calculator.
| Width (px) | Height (px) | Calculate this size |
|---|---|---|
| 800 | 1000 | 800 × 1000 |
| 1080 | 1350 | 1080 × 1350 |
| 1200 | 1500 | 1200 × 1500 |
| 1600 | 2000 | 1600 × 2000 |
Use the resizing calculator above for a custom dimension. Changing both sides independently can distort the image; changing one side proportionally preserves the ratio.
How the ratio is calculated
1080 ÷ 270 = 4; 1350 ÷ 270 = 5. Dividing both sides by the same value preserves the proportions and gives 4:5. 270 is the greatest common divisor of these dimensions.
Height = width × 5 ÷ 4. Width = height × 4 ÷ 5. These formulas change size without changing shape. They do not crop or pad the source.
Portrait dimensions that stay exact
800 × 1000, 1080 × 1350 and 1600 × 2000 all have a 4:5 ratio. To solve the height, multiply width by 1.25. At 1200 pixels wide, the result is 1500 pixels high. For an exact whole-pixel height, choose a width divisible by four.
Converting a tall video frame
A 1080 × 1920 source cropped to 4:5 becomes 1080 × 1350. A centered crop removes 285 pixels at both the top and bottom, retaining 70.3125% of the original area. Move the crop window if the subject or subtitles would otherwise be cut off.
Fit the intended placement
A portrait feed image and a full-screen vertical video are different layouts. Do not assume 4:5 will fill a 9:16 viewport without padding or a second crop. Check the destination’s current upload requirements before export; the calculator supplies geometry, not platform eligibility.
4:5 resizing examples
| Width | Exact height | Rounded height |
|---|---|---|
| 320 px | 400 px | 400 px |
| 640 px | 800 px | 800 px |
| 1080 px | 1350 px | 1350 px |
| 1920 px | 2400 px | 2400 px |
Decimal heights are displayed to four decimal places. Rounding can change the final ratio slightly. For an exact integer result, use dimensions that are whole-number multiples of 4:5.
